Oooh, shiney!

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

This is mostly gonna be a drooling-over-things-not-yet-out post I received my August issue of The Cross Stitcher, and while I wasn’t really grabbed by anything, the preview section says that Casey Buonaugurio will have a design called “Caramel Apples Sampler” in the October issue! Yay! I’ve stitched her Strawberries and […]

SBQ: Stitching Books

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

Incredibly late again this week (how did I miss it this time???), but here’s the SBQ:
How many cross stitch books do you own and how often do you use them?
Too many , and every once in a while. Mostly they’re pattern books, not reference books, so usually when I’m looking for a particular […]

Ornie finish!

Monday, June 19th, 2006

While watching the ‘Canes win the Stanley Cup (YAAAAAY!), I finished up the June Chartswappers ornie challenge, Brittercup Design’s Britty Christmas Kitty.

I did it using DMC (instead of WDW) on 32ct Irish linen, and boy was this a quick stitch! Though I did mess up a little - I stitched the right side […]

Ornies Update

Monday, June 19th, 2006

Just a quick update. I haven’t been working much on Skeleton Crew, though I have been getting at least 2 lengths of floss in it a day. Mainly I’ve been working on the two Chartswappers ornies, Sweetheart Tree’s Holly ‘n Hardanger for May and Brittercup Designs’ Britty Christmas Kitty. The latter […]

Some finishes…Yay!

Friday, June 16th, 2006

After finding the camera a few days ago, I finally found the cable for the scanner, too! So, here’s pictures of my two latest finishes.

First up, Chicken Feed. I’ve done several other ones from this series, and I have to say this is my least favorite. However, it was something […]

Skeleton Crew Update

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Well, I finally found my camera again, so here’s a picture of how far along I am on Cricket Collection’s Skeleton Crew.

It’s not quite too big for the scanner, but it’s getting there. I think I might need a bigger Q-Snap, too! I’m using E940 (DMC’s glow in the dark white) for […]

#81

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

#81 is “go to the Raleigh flea market 10 times over the summer.”  We took Gram out to the flea market on Sunday (and bought a red bookcase for $10), so that counts as 1!

#32 - Find a job - finished!

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

Well, it’s official! I’ve signed and returned my offer letter, so as of today, I am gainfully employed! I don’t start work until June 26th, though, so I still have plenty of time to unpack!

LNS Trip and SBQ Photos

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Well, first of all, I’m not going to be able to do the SBQ photos, because I don’t have my new stitching area set up yet.
In other news, I went to the LNS (Lazy Daizy) on Saturday, and bought a few things, most notably, Cricket Collection’s Skeleton Crew and some R&R Foglifter to do […]

Cross stitch update

Friday, June 9th, 2006

Well, I did finish one thing over the long MIA period - another small flour sack (for chicken feed).  I haven’t unpacked the scanner yet, but hopefully I’ll get a scan of that sometime in the next few days.  Since I finished that, I’ve been working on a Textile Heritage bookmark (the Cream Celtic […]
