Going AWOL for a while…

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Well, convocation is tomorrow (and the official commencement on Saturday!).  Sunday is the day we move out and drive to Pennsylvania.  We’re going to stay there for a few days (and attempt to pack up the rest of the stuff at my dad’s house), and then the giant moving van will continue down to […]

#1 + #10 - Finished!

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

So, I’ve created a 101 category for this challenge, and created a webpage for it (which you can see here).  Perhaps I should’ve added keeping that page updated as a challenge

Stash trip

Saturday, May 20th, 2006

I made a stash run today, mostly because I wanted to drop off some more craft supplies at the craft thrift store.  And what should they have there but an absolute treasure trove of New Stitches magazines and - get this! - evenweave and linen.  I got a 36 x 40 piece of 28ct […]

Biscornu - finished!

Friday, May 19th, 2006

Well, I finished the stitching part and most of the assembling.  I was right - the smaller seams were very tricky to put together!  Some of the seams are quite messy, but oh well, it’s my first try!  All I’m missing so far is some beaded tassels (I was thinking of using some petite […]

Biscornu

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

I started work on a biscornu last night, since I’ve been seeing so many around.  I decided to use Mamounette’s freebie.  Unfortunately, I messed up while cutting fabric, so I’m ending up doing it over 1 on 28ct with my favorite color, DMC 115 (the variegated red).  It’ll probably be harder to actually assemble, […]

SBQ: Stitching Mojo

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

This week’s SBQ is:
Lately, it seems that many stitching bloggers have experienced a loss of their stitching mojo. Have you ever lost your stitching mojo? If so, how did you get it back and how long did it take?
Occasionally, if I’m not sure what to stitch next.  Usually, I stop stitching for a while […]

Snapperland

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I spent my cross stitching time today working on Spring Snapperland.  I’m almost finished with the words in the border - I’m thinking I’ll try to finish up the entire border before actually doing the individual charts.  I’ve been trying to alternate packing with stitching, so I doubt I’ll get much done this week.

Mini-rant

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Here’s that Victoria Sampler kit I worked on over the weekend. It’s almost finished - unfortunately…

… I ran out of thread! This has *never* happened to me before, especially with a VS kit, where I normally end up with tons extra. But, for some reason, I ran out of *both* […]

Leaving for the weekend..

Friday, May 12th, 2006

Well, the interview went well, so I’m deliriously happy right now I didn’t get the geisha girl finished, but that’s OK - I’ll be seeing Gram again in two weeks. Pretty much right after I finish typing this up, we’re leaving for the weekend, so I probably won’t post again until Monday. […]
