One down…

Sunday, April 30th, 2006

One obligation gift down… several to go . I’ve been sorting through my cross stitch charts in an attempt to find my book of Coca-Cola patterns to start Glenn’s mom’s mother’s day gift. I’ve been doing dolphins for here (which I’ve collected quite the stash of patterns for), but I specifically bought […]

Rochester Sampler

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

Here’s that quick sampler I was talking about!

I wanted to stitch this as a memento, since I’ll be moving away at the end of the month. I’ve had four wonderful college years here, and while I will miss it, I certainly won’t miss the weather!
Plus, I also finished up this, which I had […]

SBQ

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

Last week’s SBQ:
Do you do obligation or deadline-based stitching? Why or why not? If you do, do you tend to get in over your head and why?
Yes, I do. I can’t say I enjoy it much - most of the things I stitch for other people are not to my taste. […]

Ornie finish

Friday, April 28th, 2006

Well, I finished off Nature Sings this morning. Here it is!

I’m still a little miffed about the designer’s choice of threads, but I do like how the design turned out. I especially love the little yellow bird.
So, I finished that up this morning, and then started the Rochester sampler while […]

Designer Rant

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

Now, I know the name of the designer is “Fancy Work.” And I admit that the design does look quite nice. But! This ornament (seriously, it’s like maybe 3×3) calls for 8 or 9 specialty threads *plus* another 8 or 9 DMC. Seriously, on such a small piece, with such […]

Shamrock Sampler!

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

Here it is!

– Minus the ribbon, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. Still no luck. Hopefully, I’ll get to the LNS this weekend, and maybe they’ll have a recommendation.
I enjoyed stitching this, to some extent, but some of the stitches I just hated, and I started getting really tired of it at the […]

Almost done!

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

I had hoped to finish the sampler tonight, but no such luck. No luck on the ribbon for the sampler, either - I bought some 1/8″ at Jo-ann’s (the smallest they had), but it definitely is too big. Ah well.

Back to the coal mines

Monday, April 24th, 2006

Well, I’ve decided to finish up the Shamrock sampler (aka Irish sampler) before starting anything new. I’m very close to finishing it - just have a few more satin stitch shamrocks, a few more over-one stitches, and it’s done! Hmm, though I do need to find some 1/16″ ribbon somewhere. I […]

Back… finally!

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

Well, in case you couldn’t tell, I’ve been gone on an extended Easter vacation. All I can say is, it’s nice to be home!
Like most vacations, I didn’t get much cross stitch done. I’m almost finished with the Chinese flowers piece and I also worked a bit on Terre de France.
Tons of […]

Little bunny finish

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Here’s a quick little finish - NMI’s Springtime Basket. It’s one of those little teeny kits. I needed something to break up the unbelievable pain in the neck the Shamrock sampler has become.

Normally I don’t like to talk about personal stuff on here, but I ended up buying a bunch of these […]
