Second Day’s Work

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Here’s my second day of work on the Strawberry sampler. I was hoping to finish up the strawberries on top today, and then do the two white designs tomorrow, but I got a little ahead of myself.

So, hopefully I’ll still be on track tomorrow!

Started a new project…

Monday, March 20th, 2006

…and it’s not the Irish sampler. Instead, I started Strawberries and Cream by Casey Buonaugurio from the February 2006 issue of The Cross Stitcher. It’s very pretty, and I’ve been meaning to do it for a while, and I promised a few pages from the magazine to somebody, so I better get […]

Finish!

Sunday, March 19th, 2006

Woohoo! My first finish for March (finally)! It’s Coloinal Candlescreen Collection Sampler III by The Heart’s Content. This was a pretty old kit (1988) that I found at the craft thrift store. It’s done on 26ct linen over-one with DMC, and I just loved doing it! My favorite part […]

Some various books

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

I’ve read quite a few books since the start of the new year, and I haven’t really listed any of them. So, in no particular order….
Summers at Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn. This is a sweet little fantasy romance. It’s a nice plot, nothing particularly dazzling, but it was an enjoyable […]

LNS trip

Friday, March 17th, 2006

Well, I had a good trip to the LNS - $40 worth! Besides getting the fabric and perle thread I needed for the sampler, I also bought some Wisper thread for an Easter bunny design I hope to stitch, as well as two new Just Nan designs. It doesn’t, however, look like […]

Still Stitching

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Not much happening - I’m still working on the Colonial Sampler by the Heart’s Content. I had hoped to have it finished by tomorrow so I could start the Irish sampler (after visiting the LNS tomorrow, of course), but I’m not sure I’m going to make that goal. I’ve finished all the […]

SBQ

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Do you stitch “over one?” If so, describe your experiences. If not, have you considered it?
Oh, I *love* over one stitching! I don’t know what it is about it - the delicacy of the stitches or what. I try to do most samplers over one, just because I think they look so […]

SBQ

Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

Whoops, almost a week late on this one…
Do you have an organizational system for your patterns? If so, how do you organize them? If not, have you considered organizing them?
Not really. I have them all - plus my magazines, of which I have a ton - in magazine organizers, but they’re not divided […]

Backtracking

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Well, I can’t start the Irish Sampler, because while looking at it, I decided that I just *had* to stitch it on 32ct Belfast, so now I’m going to wait to start it until I can get to the LNS and buy some fabric. That probably won’t be until Friday. In the […]

Back home

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

Pfew… glad to be home again! I didn’t get too much stitching done, though I did manage a trip to the LNS there! I only spent $5 though - oh, but I also subscribed to The Gift of Stitching, the online mag. I couldn’t resist the adorable band sampler, and it […]
